Within the framework of the State's Clear-cut
Strategy QGOSM aims to promoting the specification of commodities
and materials and assuring their high quality. QGOSM is exclusively
concerned with the following goals:
1. Preparing, approving and issuing the QS and related publications
on commodities, products, methods of operation, testing, raw
materials, tools and rules of assessment; standardizing measuring
regulations, terms, definitions and nomenclature…etc, in
coordination with the concerned parties.
2- Issuing and approving standards, conformity certificates and
quality marks; laying down applicable rules for their issuance and
approving interested non-governmental laboratories and services
bodies.
2- Tracking local and imported commodities and products in order to
verify their conformity to the approved standards.
3- Raising awareness of public and the media on standards and
related activities and developments at both the regional and
international levels.
4- Conducting researches and studies on conformity to standards and
quality regulations and working out solutions for their related
barriers.
5- Representing the State in the meetings of the Arab and foreign
standardization bodies.
6- Following up the implementation of international and regional
agreements in the field of Standardization and Metrology in
coordination with the interested parties operating in this field.
7- Proposing suitable regulatory laws concerned with the
standardization and metrology field. |
