1- Issuing standards for commodities, products and
services stating the applicable quality levels and claiming the
protection of consumer and the national market.
2- Standardizing and identifying the methods of testing and sample
taking.
3- Harmonizing measuring applicable regulations in the State in line
with the international system; and issue standards for measuring
instruments and facilities
4- Conducting studies and researches aiming to verify compliance
with standards; and working out solutions for the various quality
related difficulties.
5- Obtaining required information on standardization and providing
the same to a range of interested parties in the State.
6- Accreditation of the laboratories operating in the State in the
fields of testing, measuring and calibration, in order to keep alive
highly reliable laboratory services.
7- Ensuring the soundness of imported commodities, their conformity
to the approved QS, and their adaptability to the ambient
circumstances prevailing in the State.
8- Ranking among the best-in-class regional and international bodies
and showing interest in the promotion of Pan-Arab and international
economic cooperation focusing, namely, on supporting the attitude of
integration with the GCC States. |
